At Stephenson Smart, we believe that by supporting individuals and organisations in our communities that we can help to empower local people and groups to be the best that they can be, strengthening the infrastructure of our neighbourhoods.

Our employees are our most important community. We support them to undertake individual fundraising activities through our matched funding scheme, as well as encouraging them to nominate and vote for our Charity of the Year.

We also sponsor many community groups to allow them to continue with their passions and give opportunities to local people.

In addition to this, most of our senior management give their time on a pro bono basis to sit on the boards of local groups and charities in a finance role.

Stephenson Smart is proud to be part of its local neighbourhoods and the wider community of East Anglia.

Charity of the Year

We encourage our employees to nominate and vote for a Charity of the Year. We then focus a lot of our fundraising activity for that year on the charity chosen.

For 2024, our chosen charity is PAPYRUS. PAPYRUS Prevention of Young Suicide is the UK charity dedicated to the prevention of suicide and the promotion of positive mental health and emotional wellbeing in young people.

This charity has a special meaning to lots of our employees, as we sadly lost our colleague Marina Watters to suicide in April 2023.

To raise funds and awareness for PAPYRUS, we have already held a company-wide Easter Bake Sale and Wear Purple for PAPYRUS Day.

We have planned a bingo night, quiz night and HOPEWALK. You can keep up to date with our fundraising and support us on our JustGiving page
